My company still has not given me an answer on my request to work remotely this winter.\u00a0 I think it is a 50\/50 proposition, so I have been spending some time thinking about Plan B.\u00a0 Just retiring is one option, but it would be financially painful.\u00a0 Finding another job would be feasible but difficult.\u00a0 Putting Patience into storage and our 3-year plan om hiatus is probably the best option, despite the difficulties.\u00a0 One difficulty: we would have to learn how to winterize the RV.\u00a0 We would probably pay someone to teach us.\u00a0 Another problem: finding short-term housing that will take a dog.\u00a0 The best bet there is a summer place that someone is looking to rent for the winter.\u00a0 The advantage of those places is that they are usually in scenic locales (think beach) and are furnished.\u00a0 And we may lose our $800 deposit in Florida.\u00a0 So, as little as either Jett or I like the thought of spending another winter in Massachusetts, it could happen.<\/p>\n
The other excruciating wait is for Cha-Cha. We have scheduled the day to put him down: next Tuesday.\u00a0 Now every day there is a “last”.\u00a0 Last night was his last Tuesday night on Earth.\u00a0 I just bought a bag of dog food which will provide his last meal.\u00a0 You get the idea.\u00a0 I am glad he doesn’t know that the day of his death is set; that knowledge is a burden.<\/p>\n
Needless to say, I will miss him terribly.\u00a0 I expect I will bawl like a baby when I leave the vet’s office without him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
