This segment will add Utah to our map and will give us opportunities to see some great national parks.\u00a0 It also gets us further south, to reduce the chance of seeing more snow.<\/p>\n
Highlights:<\/p>\n

- Columbia River Gorge. I have never been up the Columbia River before.\u00a0 It is reportedly beautiful. Or was, before the recent forest fires.<\/li>\n
- Salt Lake City. I hope to check out the Mormon genealogical archives, to see what they can offer. If they are good (and everyone says they are), maybe we will come back this way to do some research sometime in the future.<\/li>\n
- Bryce Canyon National Park<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- Zion National Park<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park<\/a>.\u00a0 This will be a long day trip, so it might not happen if I am tired of all the driving.<\/li>\n
- Monument Valley<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- Arches National Park<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
STE2: Moab UT to Corpus Christi TX<\/h2>\n

9 hops, 1936 miles, 16 nights.<\/p>\n
This segment will complete our 48-state map by adding Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.\u00a0 It will also give us a day in Denver and a chance to visit an Indian reservation.<\/p>\n
Highlights:<\/p>\n

- The Rocky Mountains. Hopefully I will be able to enjoy them without dodging snowflakes.<\/li>\n
- Denver.<\/li>\n
- The Osage Nation Museum<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- Austin TX and possibly a dinner at Caf\u00e9 Malta<\/a>, the fine restaurant owned by Jett’s nephew.<\/li>\n
- Corpus Christi and the Texas coast recently ravished by Hurricane Harvey. If the damage is too severe we may have to bypass this area.\u00a0 Hope not.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
STE3: Corpus Christi TX to Naples FL<\/h2>\n

10 hops, 1871 miles, 18 nights.<\/p>\n
This will be a lot of miles in relatively few hops.\u00a0 I expect that we will be exhausted by the time we arrive in Naples.\u00a0 But we will have at least 5 months to recover.<\/p>\n
Highlights:<\/p>\n

- South Padre Island. We want to check out the RV parks in the area.<\/li>\n
- Mission TX. Ditto.<\/li>\n
- Galveston TX. Again, we may have to bypass this area if the damage is too severe.<\/li>\n
- New Orleans.\u00a0 Jett has been there but I haven’t.\u00a0 It will be a nice day trip.<\/li>\n
