Jett and I volunteered to serve at a “taco in a bag” patio party recently.\u00a0 We had no idea what we had signed up for, but felt that we were due for some volunteer work.\u00a0 I guess I was expecting to hand out bag lunches from Taco Bell.\u00a0 But the reality was quite different.<\/p>\n

To create a “taco in a bag” you first get a bag of Doritos.\u00a0 Not that tiny lunch-size bag, but the larger 99 cent bag.\u00a0 You cut it open on the long side, crush the chips, then load the bag with beef or chicken taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and taco sauce.\u00a0 Hand the bag to the customer along with a plastic fork and a napkin and send him\/her on his\/her way.\u00a0 $5 for what turned out to be a pretty tasty light dinner.\u00a0 Beer for sale for $2.<\/p>\n

We sold about 100 of these.\u00a0 All the time listening to steel drum music.\u00a0 A very pleasant volunteer experience.<\/p>\n

Then we watched a pi\u00f1ata be destroyed.\u00a0 No one was injured and it turned out to be filled with candy bars and bags of peanuts.\u00a0 Dessert.<\/p>\n
