Construction getting started<\/p><\/div>Yes, the shed now has steps.\u00a0 It wasn’t a huge project, but it was done in sweltering heat so I invested a lot of “sweat equity.”\u00a0 I am pretty happy with how they turned out because (1) I didn’t screw up any cuts and waste some material and (2) they are solid<\/strong>.\u00a0 Stepping on them feels like stepping on concrete.<\/p>\n

I did make a couple of minor mistakes.\u00a0 For no good reason, I decided to use screws to attach the cosmetic strip at the top and, no surprise, the screws split the thin strip of wood.\u00a0 I will eventually replace the strip and this time use finishing nails, as any halfway competent carpenter would do.\u00a0 I also painted the stringers brown initially and didn’t like the result, so I redid them in white.\u00a0 But no screwups on the things that mattered.<\/p>\n

Got ’em done just in time, too – the electrician is arriving today.<\/p>\n

I now have an entrance “alley” that I think looks pretty attractive.<\/p>\n
