For no good reason other than that they love their mother, Jett’s two sons came up from Virginia a couple of weeks ago to spend some time with us. They brought Jett’s youngest grandchild, Zachary, as well. As usual, a lot of food was consumed over the course of the two-plus days that they were with us. My goal of losing the weight I have gained this summer took a hit. A real punch in its (pudgy) stomach.<\/p>\n

One of the meals was a fabulous breakfast at Harry’s Restaurant<\/a>, a real old-fashioned diner just down the road from our hotel. If you are ever in Westborough (and why would you be?), this is the restaurant that we would recommend. We also made a trip to Kimball Farms<\/a> to get some of their outstanding ice cream. Because I needed those extra calories. I did do a disc golf outing but that was just token resistance to the flood of calories.<\/p>\n

Seriously, it was great having them around. They are good people who, despite being fans of the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys, tolerate my Patriots fandom. We watched the Patriots game on the TV during lunch at Owen O’Leary’s<\/a>. Yes, another meal.<\/p>\n
