This second day on Ocean Cay started cloudy and hazy. We took our time getting ready to go ashore. We had a late breakfast and when got to the island buffet shortly before it closed at 2pm we weren’t very hungry. But we had to eat something, so we got some blackened fish, french fries and fruit. After lunch we took another dip in the ocean, this time at the beach closest to the ship and adjacent to the lighthouse. Marlene cajoled me into swimming out to the rope barrier – over 100 yards – and I did it. That was probably the longest distance I have swum since my SCUBA swimming test in 1995.
I got some nice photos of Ocean Cay as we left port.
Back on board we dressed casually for dinner. Emily and Peggy were absent but we got an opportunity to say goodbye to Thomas and Theresa. And Marlene got a chance to dance with Warama, our waiter. It was a pretty festive dinner. A good dinner, too I loved the Caprese salad
We went to the casino after dinner and I broke even – my best showing of the cruise in the casino. I lost about $300 over the 4 nights aboard. I think Marlene lost, too, but she didn’t want to talk about it which is never a sign of winning.
We played cards before bedtime and it was pretty even, I think.
