Every cruise comes to an end and this one, being shorter than most, came to an end earlier than most. We had delayed packing until morning, so we set the alarm for 7am and got right to it. We exited the cabin at 8am, went down to the buffet for breakfast and finished just as our group number (24) was called. But we then had to get into the line of passengers who were getting off the ship. There is always a line but this was a LINE – they routed us from midships all the way to the front, through the theater and back again. We probably walked a quarter mile just to get to the exit. Ridiculous. Why did they call our group if there were a thousand people already in line? This will go on my comment card.
When we got off we had to get an Uber back to the car. This was made difficult by the fact that I had almost no T-Mobile service in the pickup area. But I finally connected, ordered an Uber and waited only 10 minutes for it to arrive. We got back to the car and had no difficulty getting out of the parking garage. The parking was a BARGAIN – $32 for a 5-day cruise. $8 per day and we were only charged for 4 days. I will definitely use this garage again if I have to park for a cruise in Miami.
Getting out of Miami took some time. No surprise there. We stopped for gas at BJs which delayed us a bit. And we took 41 which is considerably slower (but cheaper and shorter) than I-75. We stopped at the casino in Immokolee (because 4 days of casino play on the ship was simply not enough). But only Marlene went in. I drove into Ft Myers to retrieve Becky then dropped Becky and the luggage at Marlene’s house before returning to Immokolee to fetch Marlene. She broke even.
A short trip back to her house put an end to MSC2
