Carnival Conquest 2 preview

Posted by on August 24, 2026

Yes, we are going on yet another cruise on a Carnival ship. It will be our second cruise on the Carnival Conquest (see our Carnival Conquest cruise back in January, 2024) so I will call this one Carnival Conquest 2. Okay, not very original but pretty descriptive.

This will be a 14-day cruise out of Miami. Ports of call will be St Thomas, St Croix, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada and Amber Cove. There are no new ports for us in this list, but most of them are fun places that we will be happy to see again. Antigua is the least favorite but we will give it a second chance. There will also be 7 sea days, so we will have plenty of time to play trivia, lose money in the casino and try out all of the dining options on board the ship. We might get some time at the pool, too, if the weather is good.

Weather can be a concern when sailing in the Caribbean in August and September as that is the peak of hurricane season. At the moment there are no threats but one can build in 14 days so weather could be a risk to completing the itinerary as planned.

This trip originally was planned by Marlene to be for her and a friend, but the friend backed out. I thought I would be busy with election activities, but by dumb luck the start of the cruise fell 3 days after the primary election – a great time to take a break and recharge the batteries for the November general election. And the past month has been crazy so a couple of weeks of R&R will be welcome.
